The Tenuta La Rampata estate is the heart of our company hospitality. The building complex dates back to the 19th century and is nestled in the green vineyards along the valley of the Enza river. Our Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia is produced on the Tenuta La Rampata estate, which also houses a wine museum and a multipurpose center. In addition to visits, we also offer tastings of wines, vinegars and typical products of our territory.
The vinegar factory is a magical place: inside, the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia known and loved all over the world is created, refined and aged.
You enter the half-light of the attics and immerse yourself in a place characterized by barrels where the process of maturation, refinement and aging of our Traditional Vinegar takes place slowly. It is an environment sensitive to seasonal thermal variations typical of our territory and fundamental for obtaining a product of the highest quality. The aging of the vinegar lasts the time of one generation (minimum 12 years) and takes place in “batteries”. A battery is simply the combination of different barrels made of different woods that give the vinegar its unique aromas, flavors and scents.
Upon reservation only, within the vinegar works and the museum are possible. A multi-functional centre is available where you can enjoy tastings of our wines and local food as part of your visit.
book your visitThe wine museum is located in a room created from the restoration of the existing 19th century buildings, exhibiting tools and equipment that illustrate the production cycles of the vines and wine.
Thanks to our devotion and passion for our work and our history, the museum today exhibits tools and equipment that we have collected from the beginning of our family’s activity in the 19th century, to which we have added pieces from the plain of Reggio Emilia and tools used up to the post-war period. The Medici family collection belongs to the network of “Museums of Taste of Emilia Romagna”.
